Here's Where Tweets Are Born | Social Media Resources & e-learning | Scoop.it

According to a study by the Oxford Internet Institute that examined which countries use Twitter the most, citizens in the U.S.interact with Twitter more than any other country, followed by Brazil, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom. "The six largest countries in terms of information production through Twitter are: (1) the United States, (2) Brazil, (3) Indonesia, (4) the United Kingdom, (5) Mexico, and (6) Malaysia," the Oxford Internet Institute wrote in its report. "

It is interesting to note that only two of the countries on that list are in the Global North and are traditional hubs of the production of codified knowledge."

Can Facebook change the Search Paradigm?

Can Facebook change the Search Paradigm? | Social Media Resources & e-learning | Scoop.it

From The Orginal Articel: "Search and social are merging, and it is clear that Google and Facebook both hope to claim this new territory.

In the world of search engine optimization, 2012 has been full of talk about the blurring line between search and social.

With Big Brother Google unleashing Panda and Penguin to keep black hats in check, the industry has been forced to take a more holistic approach to SEO.

Google’s acolytes are now paying attention to other players in the space, and Facebook is suddenly alone in the spotlight.

A Facebook social search engine, which is becoming more of a reality every day, would completely change the way we approach search.

As an SEO specialist at The Search Agency, I’ve been closely monitoring this paradigm shift away from indexing billions of pages.

Why You Shouldn't Ignore Google+ Anymore | Jeffbullas's Blog

Why You Shouldn't Ignore Google+ Anymore | Jeffbullas's Blog | Social Media Resources & e-learning | Scoop.it

Google+ has now been with us for one year.

It almost seems like it was just yesterday when it was announced.
Part of me said “not another social network” while the other curious Jeff thought “this could be what we need to keep Facebook honest”

12 months later it appears that it is now the third largest social network in the English speaking world behind Twitter and of course Facebook.

What a lot of people don’t realize as cocooned westerners is that we don’t have a monopoly on successful social networks with Sina Weibo in China having over 300 million users with over 100 million messages being posted every day.

It does appear though that it is now possible that Google+ will be knocking on Facebook’s door within a couple years.
