Tap Into the Power of Google+ Hangouts For Your Business

Tap Into the Power of Google+ Hangouts For Your Business | Social Media Resources & e-learning | Scoop.it
Google+ Hangouts are an effective way to share content, via live video stream. This is an overview of the practical application of Google+ Hangouts.

Lately, I've been curious about Google+ Hangouts, since I was invited recently to hang out with a well-known author for one hour as she answered questions.

She made herself available to her readers to answer any question they wanted to ask. I thought, "What a unique way to connect with your fans."

And it was.

I didn't actually attend the hangout session, but it was recorded, so I was able to download an MP4 of the entire session, as well as a PDF of the session.

How can you use this for your book promotions? Let me count the ways:

o Meet and greet - Say "hi" to your READERS

o Find out WHO they are

o Award PRIZES while you're live to create excitement!

o FOLLOW UP with each and every person who attended

o Invite them back again when you release a NEW BOOK

How to Time Your Social Media Updates | #b2bsales | Social Media Resources & e-learning | Scoop.it

If you have something important to say on social media, make sure it gets heard! Different networks prefer different time windows, and different audiences operate on different time frames.

Before you start scheduling out social updates, make sure you have a clear understanding of the audience you want to reach. Determine their age, geography, and reason for reading your social updates. We’ve tailored our findings to B2B organizations.

Hi Penelope! You've written a really good commentary here. I'd like to add one point. You can use twitter to find out when your followers are most receptive, as well as a host of other useful info, if you use an app called http://www.socialbro.com/

Thanks, Al! I also want to mention "HootSuite". You can follow all your social media across several platforms---and post your tweets and other updates to automatically be sent out. Wonderful!
