Languages convey identity and culture, if a language is lost, one part of our humanity essence is lost, since what makes us different from other species is the idea that we have rationale components and we are able to communicate with the languages. The articles expresses that in north america and europe many languages are not being learnt anymore, but this is not far from the Colombian context where more than 61 indigenous tribes exist and not even the third part of the population is still apprehending the language ,not even the same inhabitants of those cultures. Is the duty of us language teachers to deal with these endangered languages and cultures

Language is part of the culture of a country and also play a major role in the identity of a group of people. Language is part of the history and the evolution of human kind and it changes among the people who speaks that language. The fact that people stop talking those language involves losing part of the identity of  country or a community.
