The information in this post relates to section 2.2: Challenges and opportunities in emerging markets, particularly the section referring to Outbound tourism from Asian countries. It is, for instance, mentioned in this section that 'As Asian people travel further, it will be important for the tourism industry at their destinations to recognise how their culture and the nature of their demand differ from that of other markets'. The discussion on how Chinese travellers make use of WeChat in order to find information and make bookings, refers to another topic discussed in section 2.2 (Challenges and opportunities in emerging markets), namely direct booking. It also relates to the impact of technological forces on the tourism environment.
