I am amazed wiith the features that some of these cruise ships have. These add a whole new dimension to cruising. The day when cruising was just about sitting around the pool, dining, and bingo games, are history. These ships are amazing - they are turning into amusement parks at sea.
Kiah Wynter's comment, October 6, 2013 6:08 PM
The cruise industry is just fascinating! Imagine a large vessel, sailing the beautiful ocean, with a list of fun and entertaining activities and amenities to enjoy during your vacation. It is just like having your own world at sea. It is a great idea for these cruise lines to offer such amazing features on their ships for all guests to enjoy. After all, to vacation on a cruise is all about the memorable experience.

I think that it is already user friendly to book a cruise. But technology will continue to advance us each day. To be a system designed to help agents book a cruise in under two minutes is great for more rates. They can take a call from a guest who wants a cruise and not have to have others on hold as long.

Celebrity Cruises boss reaffirms commitment to the trade | Cruise Industry Trends | Scoop.it
The boss of Royal Caribbean International sister brand Celebrity Cruises has urged the trade to give it a chance to show its new call centre in Guatemala can work and offer improved service.
Ana Dopozo's comment, September 22, 2013 7:59 PM
I guess we will just have to wait and see if this change will be beneficial for the company and if the new UK team delivers.
James Tavarez's comment September 23, 2013 5:50 PM
I didn't know that Royal Caribbean international sister brand is Celebrity Cruises, it makes sense just like Carnival sister is Costa. I don't believe they should be putting new call center in Guatemala. They should keep the call centers where there from UK or USA. No wonder why all these people are suffering with no jobs. All these companies rather other countries then there own to work for them.

I totally agree! Something that any cruise line can do to change up their game, they can add more exotic and/or unusual destinations. Indonesia is definitely not your average port and the culture seekers will LOVE this option. What a great addition by Princess. I'm sure it won't be long before others join in.
James Tavarez's comment September 16, 2013 8:51 PM
I personally have been to Indoensia and it is one of the nicest places I have been too. I am so glad Princess Cruises will be cruising around indonesia. I have to agree with what Anamaria said about it being a major advantage to this cruise line, especially that Indonesia is becoming a popular place to visit.
Marlene Hidalgo's comment, September 17, 2013 11:48 PM
This is a perfect opportunity for both the cruise line and citizens of Indonesia. It would be something new for all guests and amazing for the economy especially since so many people are interested. New destinations are a great way to attract more passengers.

I feel this a great advantage because they mentioned that unlike other cruise programs SeaDream is able to reach this interesting port that are usually bypassed by larger cruise ships. I believe that people who want travel on larger ships will end up booking in this ship, just for the fact they get to visit this interesting port.

Disney Cruise Line Unveils the Services and Treatments at Senses ... | Cruise Industry Trends | Scoop.it
Disney Cruise Line revealed the treatments and services that will be offered by Senses Spa & Salon aboard the re-imagined Disney Magic beginning Octobe.
Kim Smith's comment, September 16, 2013 7:08 PM
Anything a Disney cruise ship can do to appeal to relaxation of adults is a great idea. A lot of people without families will completely avoid the cruise line altogether because of the amount of small children and noise everywhere. But a revamped spa could be just the ticket to appeal to more mature guests. Also, parents of the kids on these ships definitely need a break! So a better spa will be something they can look forward to, enjoy, and then share with their friends. Word of mouth advertising is the best for any business... personal and FREE!
Christian Sanchez's comment September 30, 2013 11:15 PM
WOW! This seems like it is going to be an amazing experience. This will also attract travelers who may think Disney ships are limited to children. I have never been on a Disney cruise, but this certainly makes it tempting.
Ivhannya Wong's comment, October 1, 2013 1:02 PM
This is amazing! I went on the Disney Cruise about 2 years ago and experienced the Spa. Here they talk about all the new procedures they are adding and it all sounds absolutely relaxing and worth it. While I was on the cruise they had relaxing area where you can lay down on warm beds and then do a scented mist shower. I can't believe they have also added whitening! Weird, but different.

Gustavo Rodriguez's curator insight, September 25, 2013 9:01 PM

In my opinion one of main factors that influence the development of a society is  they way it uses technology. Under the current efforts of shifting the impact that our societies have on our planet, scientifics, engineers  and designers have joined forces in the development of hybrid technology. The revolutionary design and the fuel efficiency of this ship marks the  introduction of hybrid technology in the transportation by ocean. Hopefuly the returns on fuel cost savings will inspire the production in large scale of means of transportation that use Eco friendly technology.

Andres Moreno's comment, September 26, 2013 12:07 PM

Carnival on board quickly to meet North American fuel-emission standards on ...
Gustavo Rodriguez's curator insight, September 21, 2013 2:38 PM

Under the current climate situation, it is critical that large companies and corporations take responsability in the emissions thay are responsible for. Carnival is currently taking a step ahead of its competitors by improving technology and controlling fuel emissions related to the operation of its cruise ships. In this way, Carnival will be caring for the planet and setting an important trend, but the company will also be saving on fuel costs while improving technology and operation standards.

Nadine Nseir Villón's comment, September 22, 2013 4:53 PM
That is a great step that Carnival is taking toward cleaning its emitted air, it is the time for these big companies to re act in this critical environment circumstances that the pulltion level is accelarating as well as the global warming, and it will be also better for this technology to be shared to other companies, so everybody can contributes o protect our enviroment.
Amera's comment, September 25, 2013 3:21 PM
I think that as a large corporation, carnival is taking the necessary steps to being socially and environmentally aware and actually doing something. I think using a filtration system is proactive and i hope that all ships at least start taking a look at carnivals initiative

It's nice to see a focus on improving staterooms. I have always said that the cruise industry needs to dedicate more attention to improving staterooms. While many cruise lines continues to expand the ship size and luxury, staterooms have for the most part remained the same size (with some exception) - perhaps it's time for the cruising industry to focus on improving staterooms - both in luxury and size.
Kiah Wynter's comment, September 22, 2013 9:17 PM
It is important for cruise lines to keep their ship’s image appealing to potential guests. These ships should continue to stay modern throughout each year. It is a great idea for Windstar cruises to renovate its 72 staterooms, especially since this is a smaller cruise ship. The new renovation will retain its loyal travelers and attract more guests who have not experienced a cruise vacation on a smaller ship.
