I am amazed wiith the features that some of these cruise ships have. These add a whole new dimension to cruising. The day when cruising was just about sitting around the pool, dining, and bingo games, are history. These ships are amazing - they are turning into amusement parks at sea.

The cruise industry is just fascinating! Imagine a large vessel, sailing the beautiful ocean, with a list of fun and entertaining activities and amenities to enjoy during your vacation. It is just like having your own world at sea. It is a great idea for these cruise lines to offer such amazing features on their ships for all guests to enjoy. After all, to vacation on a cruise is all about the memorable experience.

I think that it is already user friendly to book a cruise. But technology will continue to advance us each day. To be a system designed to help agents book a cruise in under two minutes is great for more rates. They can take a call from a guest who wants a cruise and not have to have others on hold as long.

I guess we will just have to wait and see if this change will be beneficial for the company and if the new UK team delivers.

I didn't know that Royal Caribbean international sister brand is Celebrity Cruises, it makes sense just like Carnival sister is Costa. I don't believe they should be putting new call center in Guatemala. They should keep the call centers where there from UK or USA. No wonder why all these people are suffering with no jobs. All these companies rather other countries then there own to work for them.

I totally agree! Something that any cruise line can do to change up their game, they can add more exotic and/or unusual destinations. Indonesia is definitely not your average port and the culture seekers will LOVE this option. What a great addition by Princess. I'm sure it won't be long before others join in.

I personally have been to Indoensia and it is one of the nicest places I have been too. I am so glad Princess Cruises will be cruising around indonesia. I have to agree with what Anamaria said about it being a major advantage to this cruise line, especially that Indonesia is becoming a popular place to visit.

This is a perfect opportunity for both the cruise line and citizens of Indonesia. It would be something new for all guests and amazing for the economy especially since so many people are interested. New destinations are a great way to attract more passengers.

I agree Sea Dream II has a strong advantage in the cruise line industry for its boutique category and will able to reach interesting ports such as Macau.

I feel this a great advantage because they mentioned that unlike other cruise programs SeaDream is able to reach this interesting port that are usually bypassed by larger cruise ships. I believe that people who want travel on larger ships will end up booking in this ship, just for the fact they get to visit this interesting port.
Stephanie Principe's comment,

Wow, that's great news espcially since Macau is such a bustling port city . I'm sure these cruises are filled with gamblers , which is greta news for the cruiselines and the port!

This is interesting. I think it is great that the laws and cruiselines are committed to reducing the waste going into the environment.

This is a great thing that they are doing and hopefully soon other cruise lines will do the same. These cruise lines make so much money that it is only ethical that they spend money and use resources in order to be better for the environment.

Anything a Disney cruise ship can do to appeal to relaxation of adults is a great idea. A lot of people without families will completely avoid the cruise line altogether because of the amount of small children and noise everywhere. But a revamped spa could be just the ticket to appeal to more mature guests. Also, parents of the kids on these ships definitely need a break! So a better spa will be something they can look forward to, enjoy, and then share with their friends. Word of mouth advertising is the best for any business... personal and FREE!

This is amazing! I went on the Disney Cruise about 2 years ago and experienced the Spa. Here they talk about all the new procedures they are adding and it all sounds absolutely relaxing and worth it. While I was on the cruise they had relaxing area where you can lay down on warm beds and then do a scented mist shower. I can't believe they have also added whitening! Weird, but different.

I think this is a great idea! whether you are traveling alone or with family or friends I understand the need of people wanting to have their own stateroom. When I cruise I have to room with my mother and sister and I would much prefer having my own room. A lot of singles are uninterested in cruising because they travel alone. This is a great ay to cater to that sector. Thank you for posting this I am going to look into booking one of these!

To have single supplement rates is wonderful idea. Solo travelers will have many more options to travel and will definately boost business. It's a way to enter a unique sector.

I think that the VIFB is a great idea. Not only does it give incentives for past guests, but it is also open to people who have never cruised with carnival before. Great marketing strategy.

This makeover will definitely increase the sales of Disney cruises. I personally never considered taking a Disney primarily because i thought it was designed only to satisfy the needs of children. After reading this article i am looking forward to cruising with Disney.

In my opinion one of main factors that influence the development of a society is they way it uses technology. Under the current efforts of shifting the impact that our societies have on our planet, scientifics, engineers and designers have joined forces in the development of hybrid technology. The revolutionary design and the fuel efficiency of this ship marks the introduction of hybrid technology in the transportation by ocean. Hopefuly the returns on fuel cost savings will inspire the production in large scale of means of transportation that use Eco friendly technology.
Andres Moreno's comment,
September 26, 2013 12:07 PM
This is very interesting. I know we are moving into the hybrid industry for vehicle manufacturing and it is great to find out about similar technological advances in other areas. If this works well i can imagine hybrid airplanes would follow.
Gustavo Rodriguez's curator insight,
September 21, 2013 2:38 PM
Under the current climate situation, it is critical that large companies and corporations take responsability in the emissions thay are responsible for. Carnival is currently taking a step ahead of its competitors by improving technology and controlling fuel emissions related to the operation of its cruise ships. In this way, Carnival will be caring for the planet and setting an important trend, but the company will also be saving on fuel costs while improving technology and operation standards.
Nadine Nseir Villón's comment,
September 22, 2013 4:53 PM
That is a great step that Carnival is taking toward cleaning its emitted air, it is the time for these big companies to re act in this critical environment circumstances that the pulltion level is accelarating as well as the global warming, and it will be also better for this technology to be shared to other companies, so everybody can contributes o protect our enviroment.
Amera's comment,
September 25, 2013 3:21 PM
I think that as a large corporation, carnival is taking the necessary steps to being socially and environmentally aware and actually doing something. I think using a filtration system is proactive and i hope that all ships at least start taking a look at carnivals initiative

Great cultural excursion! Getting up close and personal with the pandas hmm.... that I am not so sure, but to be educated about them and especially what the research center is doing to save these animals from extinction is definitely information that interest me. It would be great to visit Jinli Street. The local culture involving the ancient artwork and the thought of spicy barbecue and as Moises mentioned the priced quite reasonable considering the many sites included. Great way to experience the Chinese culture.

Clearly, an incredible excursion to some of the most mystical and beautiful places in the world. However, the cost, for me, seems a bit too much. What an amazing cultural education this would be, I guess I too should start saving..

The fact that Sea Dream gave one of their cruises something extra sheque makes this great. Cuz not only do you go to Instanbul, but you get a deluxe mini vacation to islands that are rarely visited.

River Cruising is a very romantic and caters to new travelers because it is less chaotic, and smaller. River Cruising allows one to enjoy the scenery and get to know the ship better. I would love to experience a river cruise.

The lecture on the Lagoon of Venice sounds extremely enticing. the entire program includes nice activities. The Italian Dessert activity made my mouth water just by reading it. Sure wish I could afford something like this. I speak Italian so this cruise would be ideal, truth be told.

This sure sounds like a perfect getaway on board a cruise with such an amazing package, specially for those who are looking for a chance to visit beautiful Italy and not have to purchase an expensive flight from the states. It's itinerary seems really interesting in that, it appears to highlights much of what the Italian culture and cuisine is all about. This is a cruise I would really like to be apart of.

This is interesting, I could see a demand for it. Women love to be pampered and this would allow them to have a getaway all for themselves. Instead of having a spa day, they could just go on the all women cruise to relax and have a great time.

Hey Christian, you are so right about that. I went on NCL Epic this past winter and the service wasn't that great. There are so many people on these large ships and I guess it makes it harder for the people working onboard to make us 100% satisfied, especially when there are over 4,000 passengers. My family members said they rather go on a smaller cruise ship because you will relax and enjoy it better.

This is my dream come true. I would love to do this some day. However, the length of the cruise limits the type of passenger that can enjoy this. It will likely only include retirees or folks with enough money that they can afford to be gone for six months. However, this is definitely a good way to disconnect from the daily routine of the city, and enjoy learning the culture and experiences that all the places have to offer.
Tomas Calderon's comment,
September 4, 2013 2:25 PM
I think it's cool that they created such a game changer in the industry. Now passengers have the chance to see the open ocean from a larger perspective. It almost looks as if they are floating above the sea.

Wow, Royal Caribbean is really stepping it up a notch. This is going to be a treat for all the guest that go on this ship. This is not only super cool but this is going to be such a beautiful view for the passengers to see while they are cruising to their destination.

That's a valid point Marlene, these people pay the amount they do for exclusivity. The price they pay should ensure them rooms of the highest quality.

It's nice to see a focus on improving staterooms. I have always said that the cruise industry needs to dedicate more attention to improving staterooms. While many cruise lines continues to expand the ship size and luxury, staterooms have for the most part remained the same size (with some exception) - perhaps it's time for the cruising industry to focus on improving staterooms - both in luxury and size.
Kiah Wynter's comment,
September 22, 2013 9:17 PM
It is important for cruise lines to keep their ship’s image appealing to potential guests. These ships should continue to stay modern throughout each year. It is a great idea for Windstar cruises to renovate its 72 staterooms, especially since this is a smaller cruise ship. The new renovation will retain its loyal travelers and attract more guests who have not experienced a cruise vacation on a smaller ship.
