I was exposed to Georgia O’Keeffe about 30 years ago. Yes, her art appealed to me and I was fortunate to see her exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. However, it was her character and going against the grain that intrigued me most. She was fearless, courageous and defied all stereo types of what women were suppose to be. Georgia O’Keeffe lived a life she desired despite the criticism and back lash from public opinion. This women is one of my all time heroes, along with Margaret Burke-White and many others who were Trail Blazers for women to break the norm.
