Augmented Reality (AR) Apps are on the increase, and with good reason. It is undeniably one of the most exciting and fun technologies around. With a whole range of super cool capabilities – often by using a smartphone’s camera and then layering information (such as the nearest subway, Wikipedia info, or how high that nearest mountain is) onto the image on the screen – there is something truly futuristic about the technology, so no wonder it is so popular.

Military pilots wear expensive displays that show them relevant flight data as they scan the skies. Now a startup is bringing the tech to the masses.

“In the healthcare space,” Fateh explains, “Atheer’s Augmented interactive Reality platform will improve workflows for healthcare professionals by allowing them to easily access vital medical information at all times without physically touching a screen or interface. At many of today’s modern medical facilities doctors use tablets for everything from triage to surgery to accessing information, but touch-based interaction devices are not practical in the medical field where doctors frequently wear gloves, deal with bodily fluids, etc… Atheer is building its AiR platform so doctors can access and pull up information with a simple gesture in the air. Ultimately, this technology will vastly improving patient care and make doctor’s jobs easier.”
